Розита Форнес (урожденная Розалия Лурдес Элиза Палет Бонавиа; 11 февраля 1923 – 10 июня 2020) - кубинско-американская певица и киноактриса. Форнес родилась 11 февраля 1923 года в Нью-Йорке и ребенком переехала на Кубу. Ее родители были иммигрантами из Испании.
Форнес дебютировала на сцене в 1938 году, сыграв в музыкальной комедии "Корте супрема дель арте", впоследствии она снялась в двух кубинских фильмах, прежде чем переехать в Мексику, где она снялась в нескольких фильмах в Золотой век мексиканского кино. Среди них были The Desire, Del can-can al mambo, Cara sucia и Se acabaron las mujeres.
Вернулась на Кубу в 1952 году и стала звездой на кубинском телевидении.
Широко известна своей многогранной карьерой в индустрии развлечений Кубы. Много работала в кино, театре, на радио и телевидении Кубы.
Тепло упоминается в воспоминаниях советских людей, служивших и работавших на Кубе в 60-е годы, в частности в Записках военного переводчика Яковы Свириды (см. предыдущую публикацию на нашем сайте):
"Среди артистов выделялась своим внешним нарядом и мастерским исполнением песен знаменитая кубинка Росита Форнес.
С прискорбием приходится констатировать о кончине Роситы Форнес, последовавшей на 97 году ее жизни 10 июня 2020 года в Майами (США, штат Флорида).
Перед смертью она пожелала быть погребенной на своей родине, на гаванском кладбище Колон (Колумба). Тысячи жителей Гаваны проводили ее в последний путь, отдавая дань уважения за то, что она радовала их своим искусством на протяжении многих десятилетий, начиная с 1953 года.
Исполнительское мастерство Роситы навсегда сохранилось в памяти многих наших людей, побывавших на Кубе и имевших возможность видеть ее на карнавалах в Гаване, восседавшей в образе египетской Клеопатры на изящно подготовленной каросе (платформе на колесах со своим двигателем, на автономной тяге), слушать ее песни на концертах или по радио.
Несмотря на то, что на Кубе было в то время немало известных артистов эстрады, имя Роситы чаще других упоминается в воспоминаниях современников, сохранивших в своей памяти образ неподражаемой артистки."
Восторженно и часто (даже чересчур часто) вспоминал Роситу Фарнес и отец администратора сайта "Народная летопись дружбы с Кубой" Константин Григорьевич Синягин, работавший на Кубе в 1963-1964 годах.

25 марта 2016 года состоялось уникальное событие — знаменитая британская группа The Rolling Stones приехала на Кубу, чтобы сыграть первый рок-концерт на Острове свободы. Тысячи людей собрались, чтобы послушать бессмертные хиты Jumpin' Jack Flash, It’s Only Rock-n-Roll, Paint It Black, Honky Tonk Women’, Start Me Up, You Can’t Always Get What You Want, Gimme Shelter, Brown Sugar, Satisfaction и новые песни.
Легендарная британская рок-группа The Rolling Stones дала бесплатный концерт в столице Кубы, Гаване, собрав свыше полумиллиона зрителей. Выступление состоялось под открытым небом на забитом до отказа бейсбольном стадионе кубинской столицы - где несколько дней до этого президент США Барак Обама присутствовал на матче во время своего исторического визита. Во время концерта лидер коллектива Мик Джаггер общался с публикой на испанском. Выступление продолжалось более двух часов, а после ухода группы публика еще долго скандировала мотив Satisfaction.
