Этой бойкой 80-летней старушке не чужда жилка предпринимательства, и за то, чтобы сфотографировать ее, она просит 1 доллар. Впрочем, Грасиэла настолько характерна для Гаваны, со своими цветами в волосах и неизменной сигарой во рту, что отбоя от туристов нет целый год. Некоторые даже поговаривают, что она заработала на этом нехитром промысле приличные для Кубы деньги. Если не считать Фиделя Кастро, то Грасиэла вполне может считаться самым узнаваемым человеком на Кубе. Сделав свое изображение товаром, женщина поставила бизнес на поток - Она позирует с сигарой только если турист платит, а в остальное время принципиально игнорирует зевак. При Гарсиэле есть несколько человек, которые следят, чтобы все украшения на ней выглядели хорошо, а кроме того, они выступают ее "бизнес менеджерами" - собирают с туристов деньги. Конечно, можно пожадничать и сфотографировать ее исподтишка, можно вообще проигнорировать ее существование, но факт остается фактом - Грасиэла сегодня является своеобразным символом Кубы. "Это по-настоящему особенная женщина. Конечно, на улицах Кубы есть и другие, но она уникальна, - пишет один из туристов. - Она стара, ее зубы, кажется, крепятся к ее черепу какой-то магической силой. Но несмотря на это, она старается презентовать себя так, что проходящие мимо фотографы просто не могут не остановиться и не сделать кадр. Ее глаза как-то по-особенному сияли во время короткой встречи, и сложилось полное впечатление, что только что встретил кого-то очень особенного."
