Одно из самых известных событий в жизни музыкальной Гаваны - джазовый фестиваль, он является проявлением связи между кубинскими ритмами и джазом. Этот симбиоз получился, когда в конце 19 века, только что освобожденные рабы начали мигрировать в Новый Орлеан. Начинался фестиваль в 1979 году в значительной степени как локальное событие в Каса-де-ла-Культура-де-Плаза.
Со временем, фестиваль вырос в размерах и перестал быть событием местного масштаба и проходит не на одной площадке, а нескольких крупных театрах и ночных клубах Гаваны. Джазовый фестиваль в Гаване посещали такие международные звёзды и джаза в том числе, как Диззи Гиллеспи, Чарли Хэйден, Стив Коулман, Мишель Легран, Иван Линс и Ронни Скотт и это лишь несколько имен в списке участников.

Этот город испанцы выменяли у англичан на Флориду, сюда конкистадоры свозили награбленное золото, а мафия хотела сделать его вторым Лас-Вегасом. Столица Кубы Гавана отмечает 500-летний юбилей. Ведущий RT Эрик Фонсека отправился на экскурсию по ней, увидел самые красивые места, узнал интересные исторические факты и, конечно же, прокатился на ретроавтомобиле: подобных транспортных средств на улицах Гаваны больше, чем где-либо в мире.

Российской общество дружбы с Кубой является правопреемником Всесоюзного общества советско-кубинской дружбы, основанного 11 ноября 1964 года. Среди его членов самые разные люди: общественные и политические деятели, космонавты, военные, представители мирных профессий.
Некоторые из них состоят в РОДК почти с момента основания. Все это время они являлись хранителями истории сначала советско-кубинской, а затем и российско-кубинской дружбы.
В этом разделе они поделятся с вами своими архивами, воспоминаниями, документами и другими материалами.
