"Мы считали, что фашизм был побежден навсегда, но, к сожалению, это было не так", - заявил Коронелли. Посол отметил, что "наследники Гитлера" уничтожают советские памятники в Прибалтике и на Украине. Кроме того, власти этих стран хотят запретить своим гражданам омечать День Победы. Глава российской дипмиссии добавил, что в настоящее время НАТО во главе с США ведут гибридную войну против нашей страны. "Но, похоже, они не извлекли уроков из истории", - подчеркнул посол. Он указал на то, что российские военнослужащие сумели развенчать миф о "непобедимости" западного оружия. К присутствующим на церемонии также обратился глава кубинских ВВС и ПВО Марио Родригес Пеньяранда. "Вечная слава героям и жертвам Второй мировой войны! Да здравствует дружба между народами!" - отметил он. Военнослужащий также высоко оценил роль народов Советского Союза в борьбе с нацизмом и фашизмом. В пятницу, 10 мая, состоялось шествие "Бессмертного полка", а на следующий день запланировано проведение российско-кубинского "Марафона дружбы". А в это время в Москве в Москве находился Президент Кубы Мигель Диас-Канель, который вместе с другими иностранными лидерами присутствовал на Параде Победы, а также возложил цветы к Могиле Неизвестного Солдата.
