В это время к Кубе подходили советские корабли с последними ракетами и контингентом. В результате в Атлантическом океане начинается противостояние американских и советских судов. Пиком кризиса называют «черную субботу» - 27 октября, когда над Кубой был сбит самолет-разведчик U-2 ВВС США. В этот день мир, как никогда, был близок к началу глобальной ядерной войны.
