Русские и кубинские добровольцы Description An account of the resource Эту коллекцию мы посвятили памяти русских и кубинских воинов-интернационалистов, боровшихся за свободу Кубы и Советского Союза. В истории российско-кубинских отношений есть яркая, но пока ещё малоизвестная страница о русских добровольцах, которые в конце XIX века внесли самый непосредственный вклад в национально-освободительную борьбу кубинского народа за независимость от испанской короны. Трое юношей из-под Петербурга: Пётр Платонович Стрельцов, Евстафий Иосифович Константинович и Николай Герасимович Мелентьев, – участвовали в боевых действиях против испанских колонизаторов на стороне Повстанческой армии под руководством генерала Антонио Масео. Спустя 45 лет трое кубинских юношей пошли на фронт добровольцами, чтобы сражаться за страну, ставшую им родным домом. В рядах Красной Армии во время Второй мировой войны бок о бок с советскими воинами сражались иностранные добровольцы из различных государств, в том числе молодые кубинцы – братья Альдо и Хорхе Виво и Энрике Вилар.
